What is Diversity Management?
Diversity Management is a way of managing staff that takes into account the individuality and diversity of our staff, and uses this to everyone’s advantage. Diversity is about more than just accepting the nationality, ethnicity, gender, religion, and sexual orientation of our staff members: it recognizes that there’s increased value in having a more diverse workforce. We practice this by
- integrating diversity into our company’s philosophy
- supporting different cultures and minorities
- as well as by providing equal opportunities to everyone
Diversity at Kautex
„Diversity as a chance“ is the slogan of the Charter of Diversity. Seeing diversity as a chance is also a part of our corporate culture. It connects diversity with team spirit, integrity, respect, engagement and continuous improvement.
In July 2008 Kautex has signed the European „Charter of Diversity“ in order to publically share its commitment to diversity. Since that time, more than 2.500 companies have joined this business initiative to point out the importance of diversity: The only way to be successful is to identify and use the existing diversity. The companies signing the „Charter of Diversity“ agree to drive the six premises in their business culture as a matter of a basic commitment to fairness and appreciation of the human being in the business. The target of this initiative is to drive diversity and Diversity Management.
The following six premises of the charter have been fostered by Kautex for quite some time:
- We ensure the business culture provides guidelines and responsibility of the management
- We review and secure HR processes for equal opportunities
- We recognize the diversity of the community inside and outside the business
- We consider diversity as a part of the business communication
- We provide the public with information about activities and improvement
- We include our work force in the realization of the charter
